Hello, my name is Marie Hahne.
I was born in Berlin, Germany in 1993 where I studied Costume and Stage Design at Weißensee University of Arts Berlin. In 2016 I sat foot into Japan vor teh first time where I fell in love with the Japanese nature, menthality and traditiones routed in Shintoism.
I studied Contemporary Art at Hiroshima City University, Japan and since then am living and woking between Berlin and Kawasaki as a freelancing artist and educator.
Coming from a Theatre background my personal artwork is always starty from the written word.
Taking my original prose, theatrical texts or the myths of the Japanese Kojiki as an inspiration I seek to translate words into spaces. Those spaces then become the stage for interactive performances.
Japanese and German language interwine and invite the observer to get close, listen, touch and experiment between cultures.
